Airport Aggravation

Can someone explain to me why the airlines are ripping customers off every chance they get? I've already paid through the nose for ridiculously expensive plane tickets to Florida, then I had to pay an additional $25 for a suitcase that was 10 pounds over the weight limit because I had crammed in about 10 pounds of liquid material (hair gel, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, detangler, and on and on) that I could not longer fit in my carry on bag. The security guy who weighed my bag just gave me a look of disgust, like I was an idiot who should know better and not pack every summer outfit I own along with about 10 pairs of shoes into my suitcase.

Aside from the fact that I checked 3 cases in while I could have checked 4 and not be charged, I was baffled. My husband explained that they charge you more if your bag is heavy because it could be for the baggage handlers who may pull their backs out lugging my steamer trunk on the flight. If that's the case, then I'd gladly pay, but somehow, I don't believe the hype.

A friend of mine recently travelled on another airline (American) and when she went to check in, they charged her $2 for each bag when she decided to check her bags at curbside. I know the airlines are hurting, but this nickel and diming is really getting under my skin...now it's your turn to sound off...are you getting aggravated with airlines? Sound Off Now!!!
